Flexigrip is a sternal closure system with specific indication in cardiothoracic surgery. The sistem is composed by nitinol staples and an instrumentation kit. The staple act as a brace holding together permanently and safely the sternal osteotomy. Flexigrip is lighter and less traumatic than common Sternal Closure Systems. Flexigrip allows a certain degree of flexibility to the rib cage expansion; allows an easier removal if needed and allows an even faster sternal closure. Flexigrip reduces, due to its semirigid compression, time of hospitalisation and healing.
